The process indicator model 9162 covers a whole range of applications where measurement values must be detected, displayed and monitored so as to not exceed certain limiting values. Due to rapid conversion speeds it is possible to obtain very fast reactions to measurement signals. A peak value memory for min., max. and peak-to-peak values considerably enhances the device's application spectrum. These features permit extreme values to be captured during a process. The process value display supports the direct connection of the strain gauge (DMS) and potentiometric sensors as well as transmitters with process signal output. The ability to perform linearizations via the input menus makes it possible to adapt and match various sensor characteristics. An optional analog output can be used to perform automatic control operations or even to control recorders.

Application

The process indicator model 9162 covers a whole range of applications where measurement values must be detected, displayed and monitored so as to not exceed certain limiting values. Due to rapid conversion speeds it is possible to obtain very fast reactions to measurement signals. The ability to perform linearizations via the input menus makes it possible to adapt and match various sensor characteristics. An optional analog output can be used to perform automatic control operations or even to control recorders.

Microprocessor technology makes it possible to perform essential unit settings and adjustment via keyboard. Settings not requiring frequent adjustment, e.g. the sensor feed voltage setting, are performed conventionally using jumpers. There are 6 push buttons available on the front panel for the operation of the process indicator. Besides the measurement value display, there is a 14 mm high, 7-segment LED display which permits menu-guided confi guration. The menu contains the following important items: max./min. limit setting, analog output confi guration, linearization and measurement variable matching.

The integrated feed voltage source not only supplies the sensors but also provides the auxiliary power for the connectable transmitter. There are a total of 17 measurement ranges for voltage and current measurement at your disposal. If necessary, the linearization of the input signals is supported by 33 fi xed points.

The evaluation or classifi cation of measurement signals is possible using three setpoints. They are either entered as fi xed values or predetermined externally using analog setpoint inputs. An alarm output (relay or transistor) is assigned to each limiting value. In the "transistor output" version, the device supplies 24 V switching signals directly.
The TARE, RESET and HOLD functions can be enabled or disabled via push button or using isolated switching inputs.

There are 2 fi lters available. They are responsible separately for the measurement channel or only for the speed of the display.
