The specialty of the new bending beam sensor for load model 8510 from burster is to measure small forces with high precision.

Typical applications are industrial force measurements on switches, keys, jumpers, wire and thread coilers as well as measurements of spiral characteristics and frictional forces. To ensure a long lifetime of the sensor, a sturdy mechanical overload protection up to a multiple of capacity has been integrated.

The sensor element is a double bending beam with 4 strain gauges forming a full bridge. The introduced force changes the ohmic resistances of the strain gauges which results in a force-proportional output voltage for further processing.

The output voltage (characteristic value) is nominal 1mV/V. Available are the measuring ranges 0...1N, 0...2N, 0...5N and 0...10N.

For the power supply and signal processing burster offers a variety of evaluation instruments. With these a complete measuring chain can be configurated according to customer’s requirements - as built-in or stand-alone version, with peak value memory, limit value monitoring or interface.
