Battery Button Cell or Load Cell

It definitely takes a second look at this especially small load cell from burster Germany to clearly identify it – but in fact it is a real load cell. burster’s ultra miniature load cell model 8416 enjoys an increasing popularity as the designers’ approach and the industry’s requirements lead to ever smaller mechanical structures and continuously lighter units. 

Its outer diameter only comes to 10.6 mm and its height to 5 mm. In spite of this absolute miniaturization the load cell offers measuring ranges from 0 … 100 N to
0 … 5000 N with an accuracy of 0.5 % F.S. It is made of stainless steel and for robotic applications it is especially equipped with a highly flexible cable for a high number of bending cycles. Further advantages are its high rigidity, its short measurement distance and the high resonance frequency of up to 80 kHz resulting from this and the geometric dimensions.

A new era of perspectives shows up for constructions in which so far an integration of a load cell was impossible due to space and/or weight reasons. Particularly the field of tool design and construction or precision mechanics manufacturer benefit from this product but also in testing machines, control units and handling appliances this low cost force mite encounters interesting applications.
