Milliohmmeter for inline testing

Resistance measurement every millisecond

Resistance measurement is an important factor in quality assurance in many areas. Whether contact lugs of battery packs in electromobility, power tools or communication electronics - contact resistances in the milliohm range provide information about the quality of the spot-welded connection and its high-current capability. Motor or relay coils can also be tested quickly and reliably, and fuses, heating wire coils, solenoid coils, plug contacts and switches can be examined. For these important tasks, burster präzisionsmesstechnik developed the RESISTOMAT® 2311, a high-precision milliohmmeter for the fastest inline measurements in production (Fig. 1). With up to 100 measurements per second, it is ideally suited for 100% control in mass production. The compact measuring device (110 x 110 x 183 mm) offers measuring ranges from 20 mΩ to 200 kΩ with an accuracy of 0.03 % of the measuring range. Up to 10 individually adjustable material temperature coefficients in conjunction with temperature compensation in the range 0 - 100 °C make the measurements temperature-independent.

For automated inline testing

Fast measurements from 10 ms including evaluation guarantee a high throughput. 32 individually presettable measuring programmes allow individual measurement even with frequently changing products in the production line. An integrated data logger stores up to 900 measured values per measurement programme. Interfaces such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP or EtherCAT ensure fast integration into a wide range of production environments (Fig. 2). A dual or quadruple comparator with switched outputs classifies and selects the test specimens. The test leads are monitored by an integrated cable break detection system, while a PT100 sensor or a pyrometer record the data for temperature compensation. Measuring input protection is integrated for inductive test objects, which reliably prevents voltage peaks when disconnecting. The load voltage can be limited to 20 mV especially for measuring contact transition resistances (dry circuit measurement), which prevents so-called fritting (burning through of contact layers).

Company box: About burster

Whether individual measurement components or system solutions, burster mainly supplies users in mechanical and plant engineering, automation, automotive engineering with suppliers, electrical engineering, electronics and the chemical industry. The portfolio includes measuring and testing devices as well as standard sensors for mechanical and electrical measured variables, such as force, compression, torque and displacement sensors and milli and megohmmeters or resistance decades. Individual, customised OEM solutions are also possible, e.g. for many other industries and future markets such as medical technology, biotechnology and e-mobility. Our many years of experience in the construction of measuring devices and sensors always guarantees optimal solutions. Sensors, amplifier and transmitter modules, precision measuring devices and measuring systems for sensor signal processing are supplied to customers all over the world from the development and production site in Germany.
