Modular system consisting of fieldbus controller and up to 8 measuring amplifiers
In modern automation concepts, digitalisation right down to the sensor poses special challenges. Design and space or harsh enviriomental conditions often require sensors without integrated evaluation electronics. Intelligent measuring amplifiers that digitally evaluate the measured values of such sensors and transmit them to the automation network via a fieldbus controller then allow end-to-end digitalisation. For this data logging, burster offers a scalable, fully digital, compact module system. It consists of a fieldbus controller (model 9251) for industrial Ethernet standards such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP or EtherCAT and flexible measuring amplifiers. Up to eight measuring amplifiers (model 9250) can be connected to one controller for sensors such as strain gauges, potentiometers or analogue ±10 V or incremental signals. The measuring amplifier automatically recognises burster sensors with burster-TEDS sensor recognition and can also be quickly and easily parameterised on the module. Easily accessible terminals for sensor cabling and top-hat rail mounting allow quick installation in the control cabinet by simply stringing together the fieldbus controller and amplifier modules.
Flexible, scalable, practical
The fieldbus controller can read up to nine measuring channels: the eight channels of the 9250 measuring amplifiers plus an addition ±10 VDC channel as a standard signal or transmitter input. In addition to flash configuration on site via buttons on the amplifier modules, convenient device configuration or backup via the DigiVision PC software is also possible via a USB interface on the front. Thanks to its compact design, the complete system consisting of the fieldbus controller and the measuring amplifiers can be easily accommodated in the control cabinet, allowing digital measured value acquisition even where space is limited.
The amplifier modules work with 24-bit AD conversion, the measuring rate of the individual measuring amplifiers is up to 14,400 measurements per second with non-linearity of < 0.005 % F.S. They offer a strain gauge excitation voltage of 2.5, 5 or 10 volts with a maximum supply current of 40 mA. This means that several strain gauge sensors can also be connected to the excitation voltage in parallel. The sensor connection in 6-wire technology compensates for possible errors of measurement due to line and contact resistances, such as those that can occur due to temperature changes. A parameterisable limit switch also enables direct switching via an output on the module, for example for a quick emergency stop. This eliminates runtime-related delays that occur during PLC integration.
