Model 1282 measuring resistors are used in conjunction with premium digital voltmeters for high-precision measurement of direct and alternating currents up to 200 A. The compact design and good technical data, in particular the exceptionally good temperature and long-term stability, allow these resistors to be used universally.

A typical field of application, among many others, is the broad spectrum of reliability tests. Measurements taken time and again provide a source of information about the quality level of components, devices and systems.

Technologies already proven in our precision and calibration resistors - which in particular ensure the delicate dissipation of thermal energy - have been transferred to the precision high-load measuring resistors. They are constructed using 4-wire technology. The voltage path is calibrated to the customer-specific nominal value and the tolerance class (0.02 % at the reference temperature = 23 °C).

Under load, the measuring resistor experiences a temperature increase. Large heat sinks ensure good heat dissipation. The thermal resistance of the model 1282 is 1 K/W, i.e. the temperature of the resistor increases by 1 K per watt of mechanical power supplied.

All performance and limit values refer to the MANGANIN® resistor material used. Unfavourable installation with insufficient ventilation and cooling possibilities must be considered according to the load. Cu terminals, which ensure low thermoelectric voltages, form the potential taps, while the current is supplied via screw terminals, dimensioned according to the maximum mechanical power.
