The DIGISTANT® model 4420-V001 field calibrator is ideal for the examination and calibration of temperature measuring and control devices. Due to its versatile functions, the portable device can be used on site by quality assurance, implementation and service technicians.

Voltages as well as currents, temperatures and resistances can be simulated and measured.

By simultaneously sourcing and measuring, it is possible to precisely examine controllers, for example.
Process sequences are controlled with the automatic ramp function.

The universal calibrator measures and simulates 14 thermocouple models and Pt100. Resistances from 10 mΩ to 2 kΩ can also be measured and simulated from 10 Ω to 4 kΩ.

The reference junction temperature can be entered manually via the keypad, but automatic reference to an internal or external reference junction is also possible.

Basic values and corresponding Δ-values can be saved via 10 freely programmable memories each for voltage, current, thermocouples and RTD (resistance temperature device). Pressing the Δ+ or Δ- button adds or subtracts the according values.

The microprocessor-controlled universal calibration source is operated via a clearly laid out membrane keypad. The value input keys are colour-coded to differentiate them from the function and memory keys, thus ensuring clear assignment to the measuring or sensor variable.

The measuring or encoder value is shown on a high-contrast alphanumeric Supertwist LCD display in two lines of 20 characters each. The encoder value is displayed in the units according to the encoder. In addition, the "Simulate thermocouple" function displays the thermocouple with the standardised abbreviation and the type of reference junction. After switching off, the last input values remain saved.

In the "Measure thermocouple" operation mode, the selected thermocouple, the cold junction compensation type and the measured value are displayed. A special internal reference junction has been specially designed for thermocouple measurement and simulation, which can be used to compensate for even large ambient temperature fluctuations.

The built-in NiMH battery is protected against overcharging and deep discharging. The device can also be charged in buffer mode using the mains adapter supplied.
