The DIGISTANT® model 4463 is a high-precision calibration source that impresses with its versatility and accuracy. The device is therefore supplied with a DAkkS certificate. Compared to other calibration sources, it offers a better error limit of 0.002 % over the entire voltage range.

In order to achieve a consistently high level of quality and comply with standards and directives, a wide variety of measuring devices and process instruments must be calibrated regularly. The DIGISTANT® model 4463 offers a wide range of the functions required for this. Inaccuracies caused by the connecting cables can be compensated via sense lines in 4-wire technology.

All important information on the set parameters and the accuracy achieved is clearly shown on the high-resolution colour display. The dynamic menu navigation is intuitive. Range selection is automatic or manual. Values can be entered precisely using the numeric or cursor keypad.

The device can be controlled via the Ethernet, USB or RS232 interface. LabView drivers for software integration and SCPI commands are provided free of charge. 32 ramp functions per range with 100 value/time sequences can be saved and started automatically.

Scales including ITS90 and IPTS68, constant or external cold junction type, are selectable for thermoelectric voltages. An optionally available external Pt100 reference junction with calibration data considered in the device leads to even lower uncertainties in the measuring chain.

  • Mounting set for 19"/5U control cabinet installation
  • External reference junction for thermocouple model 4485-V001

  • DC voltage up to ±100.0000 V
  • DC current up to ±50.0000 mA

Task

For 100% testing of relays, they have to be energized gradually via a precision voltage source. Two switching moments are determined and then documented. If the measured value is within the predefined range, the specimen is found to be OK.

 Specific requirement

  • Automatic sequence function (ramp function)
  • ± switching
  • Interface for converting and comparing data

solution

The requirements of the measuring task are implemented using the DIGISTANT® 4463. The user-programmable sequence function (ramp function) enables a precise current/time simulation. Once the customer-specific maximum limit is reached, the current is reversed (±) and the ramp runs backwards to find the second switching moment. The interface makes it possible to track the values of the applied voltage and document the switching moments. The relays can be sorted based on these values.
