The precision RTD simulator is used wherever measuring devices or control equipment need to be examined or calibrated with high precision. The simulator is suitable for calibration laboratories and service centres that require a computer-controlled resistance decade for the automation of calibration procedures.

All common platinum and nickel RTD (resistance temperature device) can be simulated to ITS 90 or IPTS 68 with very high accuracy.

Temperature controllers, transmitters and so on often supply a pulsed measurement current in order to reduce the self-heating of the RTD (temperature device). Devices with electronic simulation of RTD (resistance temperature device) tend to oscillate and do not work in this application. This is where the advantage of the model 4530 RTD simulator comes into play, as it can simulate the RTD (resistance temperature device) without any problems using real ohmic simulation.

Of course, the RTD simulator can also be used as a classic resistance decade.

The device is housed in a sturdy aluminium casing. The keypad, display and connection sockets are located on the front panel. 2-, 3- and 4-wire connection is possible on the back.

Pt100, Pt200, Pt500, Pt1000, Ni100 or Ni1000 can be selected via simple menu navigation. It is also possible to set the temperature scales ITS 90 (DIN EN 60751) or IPTS 68 (DIN 43760) and the temperature coefficients for platinum α = 0.385 (DIN) or α = 0.392 (US). Once the sensitivities have been set, the temperature values can be entered very easily using the numeric keypad. Active set values are shown on the display.

Low-thermal relays and stable film resistors with a very low temperature coefficient are at the heart of the simulator. The simulator is powered by an internal power supply unit.
