When measuring low-ohm resistors of any kind, particular attention must be paid to the contacting. Poor contacting is usually synonymous with a resulting large error of measurement. The Kelvin measuring clamps and Kelvin test probes presented here offer a variety of measurement options for a wide range of applications.

They guarantee a flawless and simple 4-pole connection of the measurement object. In conjunction with RESISTOMAT® digital ohmmeters as well as other commercially available milli and microohmmeters, these clamps are a useful accessory that increases the quality of the measurement.

All Kelvin clamps and Kelvin test probes described here use four-wire technology. The two halves of the clamps have insulated contact sets. One set of contacts is used to feed in current, the other to tap potential. Thanks to the technology used here, line resistances in both the current branch and the voltage tap have no influence on the measurement result.

The model 2386 measuring clamp is made of solid nylon plates. This unbreakable material can also withstand tough use, e.g. in testbays in the cable industry. The Kelvin test probes consist of a stainless steel rotating part with a plastic handle. The outer contacting and inner potential tapping tips are insulated from each other, with the latter being spring-loaded.
