The model 8527 high-precision compression load cell is the predestined force transducer for reference measuring chains when very accurate measurement results are required. Its very high manufacturing quality and extremely low linearity deviation / linearity error of just 0.035 % F.S. make it a reliable partner for comparative measurements and calibration tasks.
With a dynamic load capacity of up to 100 % of the upper range value, the model 8527 sensor can also be used in situations in which a rapid signal change with a high amplitude occurs and needs to be measured.
The model 8527 high-precision compressive load cell has a spherical load insertion button on the top into which the compressive force to be measured is introduced. Inside the sensor there is a bending diaphragm on which strain gauges generate a change in resistance of the measuring bridge and an output signal proportional to the load. For the best possible measurement result, the force should be applied axially and centred in the load insertion button. The contact surface is ideally hardened (60 HRC) and is not bent when force is applied.

Task
A hydraulic press is fitted with a load cell for monitoring the pressing force. This sensor must be checked regularly, because the system is operated in shifts under difficult conditions. The only option is to calibrate the sensor in its installed state, because internal friction forces arising from guides etc. can have an effect on the measurement result. The 8527 load cell, bundled with the TRANS CAL 7281, proves a practical measurement combination for portable use under these circumstances.
