Due to its small dimensions and very solid design, this stainless steel pressure load cell can be used in a wide range of industrial and laboratory applications. This pressure load cell is easy to handle and enables relatively uncomplicated installation. Its small size makes it particularly suitable for use in very confined structures where static and dynamic compressive forces need to be measured.

The model 8415 miniature compression load cell is a flat, cylindrical disc with a cover at the bottom. The load insertion button for absorbing compressive forces is designed as an integral part of the sensor.

The measuring body contains a strain gauge full bridge applied to the measuring element, which emits a bridge output voltage directly proportional to the measured variable when force is applied. The small diameter of the sensors results in high rigidity and a short deflection. The measuring force may only be applied centrally and without transverse force. The sensor must be installed on a flat and smooth support surface.

Task

The task is to pre-assemble hose clips on a mandrel of a specified diameter designed to come as close as possible to the final assembly situation, while testing the hose clip function. This function essentially involves transferring a force in a radial direction and thereby guaranteeing a reliable seal between the hose and the pipe end inside. Not only can the miniature load cells be fitted in mandrels shaped for small clamping diameters but they can also be arranged close enough for several clips to fit side by side on one mandrel for simultaneous testing.
