The model 8451 load cell was developed to measure the working forces that occur on presses. The internal measuring elements are designed to be robust, so that the typical press applications with their steeply rising force curves can be safely mastered. They can be quickly and easily attached to the press ram or replaced without any additional surrounding components. The load cell is placed between the mould and the press ram and can therefore measure the actual compressive force directly in the working axis.
The load cell measures the compressive forces between the circular contact surfaces between the press ram and the press tool. The pin on its upper side and the hole on its underside are only used for mechanical mounting and to ensure that the components are centred in relation to each other. The connection cables are suitable for drag chains, designed for a wide range of flexible movements and are securely fastened in the Mounting in the sensor housing. Clampable mounting parts are available for the press sensors to facilitate the mounting of displacement sensors for individual applications.

Task
A ball bearing needs to be press-fitted into a component. Load cell 8552 is used to verify that the bearing has been fitted with the correct force. The sensor can be fitted easily between tool and press ram using a standard tool holder. A visual and acoustic signal from the ForceMaster 9110 is used to indicate that the maximum force has been reached. The load cell is equipped with burster TEDS, so that sensor settings can be imported into the ForceMaster 9110 without any laborious configuration.
