This high-precision torque sensor is designed for static and dynamic measurements in non-rotating applications. It is ideally suited for torque measurements on e.g. the smallest electric actuators, micromechanical actuator elements or for recording reaction torques of e.g. micromotors.
The high accuracy also makes this sensor ideal as a reference for use in a wide range of industrial manufacturing and laboratory research and development projects. Its non-rotating parts ensure maintenance-free operation when used properly.
Thanks to its modular design, the strain gauge-based sensor can be configured precisely for the desired area of application. With the integrated amplifier option, the sensor directly supplies a voltage signal of 0 ... ±10 V. The sensor can be configured via the micro-USB interface, e.g. setting a filter frequency, averaging and a tare function are available. With the USB measuring option, the measuring function via USB is also available in addition to the voltage output. Measurement and data storage can be carried out using the DigiVision software supplied; in addition, drivers are available for LabVIEW, for example. Integration into your own programmes is also possible using a DLL.
With the burster TEDS option (electronic data sheet, memory chip with the sensor-specific sensitivities), quick configuration of compatible evaluation units (measuring amplifiers, indicators, etc.) is possible.

- Linearity error 0.05 %
- Analog output signal 0 ... 10 VDC
- Built-in instrumentation amplifier cuts susceptibilty
- End-mounting facility simplifies mechanical construction
Task
Two precisely positioned plastic bearings are simultaneously fitted in a mounting plate by rotating through a fixed angle of 13 °. Das Reib- und Rastmoment soll gemessen werden.
Specific Requirement
Bedingt durch die notwendigen Einpresskräfte muss der Sensor für hohe axiale Kräfte ausgelegt sein.
Solution
The friction torque and latching torque lie in the range of 4.7 Nm to 9 Nm. The high-precision torque sensor model 8625 is used only to detect the jump in torque as the part engages but also to measure the friction torque needed while the part is running under the tab until it engages. The minimal linearity error allows tightly-toleranced monitoring of the distinct process stages. A safety coupling protects against overloading the torque sensor.
Branchen

- Nominal temperature range -20 °C up to 80 °C
- Flange-mounted model
- Extremely easy to fit
Task
The static torque needed to open and close safety tank cap systems on hazardous material containers (to overcome the catch/retaining force in both directions) is measured under various test criteria.
Specific Requirement
Various test criteria such as level of soiling, number of open/close operations, gasket seating, etc.
Solution
The flange mounted model of the high-precision torque sensor 8625 is very easy to fit in the particular application. The support for the object under test and the weight exerted by the test object are decoupled from the measuring element. Temperature variations arising from ambient conditions and the nature of the hazardous material have only minimal impact on the measurement quality thanks to the wide nominal temperature range.
Branchen

- USB port
- TARE function
- Good value sensor solution
Task
The torsion and elasticity behaviour of rubber dampers is analysed in a test apparatus.
Specific Requirement
Sehr kleiner Messbereich des Sensors. Statischer Sensor aufgrund eines geringen Verdrehwinkels. Das Kabel wird mitgeführt.
Solution
The object under test is twisted through a small angle. The high-precision torque sensor model 8625, which is rotated conjointly, detects the anticlockwise and clockwise torque. The DigiVision PC software reads the sensor measurements via USB port on the basis of the set trigger criteria, then visualizes and documents this data.
