With this high-precision torque sensor, it is possible to carry out static and dynamic measurements in non-rotating applications. The sensor is particularly easy to integrate into existing or new screwdriving applications thanks to the internal and external square mechanical terminals.
Especially in the field of quality assurance and monitoring of screwdriving tools, the sensor can fully utilise its advantages such as built-in amplifier, support bearing for lateral force support and USB interface.
Non-rotating parts ensure maintenance-free operation when used properly.
Thanks to its modular design, the strain gauge-based sensor can be configured precisely for the desired area of application.
With the integrated amplifier option, the sensor directly supplies a voltage signal of 0 ... ±10 V. The sensor can be configured via the micro USB interface, e.g. setting a filter frequency, averaging and a tare function are available. With the USB measuring option, the measuring function via USB is also available in addition to the voltage output. Measurement and data storage can be carried out using the DigiVision software supplied; in addition, drivers are available for LabVIEW, for example. Integration into your own programmes using DLL is also possible.
With the burster TEDS option (electronic data sheet, memory chip with the sensor-specific sensitivities), quick configuration of compatible evaluation units (measuring amplifiers, indicators, etc.) is possible.

- Extremly low profile
- Bending moments have little impact on measurement quality
- Standard square shaft
- Excellent value for money
- Suitable for use in harsh conditions thanks to ultra-rugged sensor design
Task
In a simple test station for electric screwdrivers, an 8632 nonrotating torque sensor is used to measure the screw tightening torque M4 to M6 screw connections.
Specific requirement
Einfache Integration des Sensors in manuellen Prüfplatz.
Solutions
This is done by embedding the torque sensor in a C-section mount: the external square shaft is inserted into the base plate and held so it cannot rotate, while the sensor body is fixed and aligned in the C-section itself. The various screw sizes are screwed into specially made fixtures, and the maximum tightening torque is measured. The aim is to optimize the torque set in the electric screwdriver to avoid overtightening screws, to optimize downtimes, etc.
