burster specialises in the development, manufacture and sale of measuring and testing devices, sensors and measuring systems as well as calibration services. Since 1961, burster has been setting standards in precision, quality and flexibility. This makes the medium-sized company from Baden-Württemberg one of the world's most important suppliers of systems for sensor signal processing and process monitoring. We are a reliable partner for mechanical and plant engineering in automation, in the automotive industry with its suppliers, in electrical engineering, the chemical industry and e-mobility, but also in many other industries and future or niche markets such as medical technology, biotechnology and robotics.

Started small - become big - stay innovative
For more than 60 years, burster has been producing sensors and process measuring devices to the highest quality standards.
With a car and a typewriter as start-up capital, Irmgard and Hubert Burster start selling precision measuring instruments.
The company headquarters are opened in Gernsbach, where they are still based today.
As a pioneer in measurement technology, burster presents the DIGOMAT® 7601, the first fully automatic digital ohmmeter on the world market.
With the SEMMEG® measurement amplifier, burster has created a system for modular sensor signal acquisition and processing.
The need for low-cost sensors sources the starting signal for in-house production of sensors based on strain gauge technology.
Accredited calibration laboratory of the DKD received the confirmation and from now on was a calibrating institute of the German Calibration Service (DKD) by the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB).
The first microprocessor device DIGISTANT® 4405 is developed: The world's first portable calibrator was sold 5,000 times in over 35 years.
Burster's precision measurement technology is used in the physicist Klaus von Klitzing's discovery of the quantum Hall effect.
Development of the first bus-compatible pressure transducer on the world market.
Our commitment to product quality was confirmed early on with certification in accordance with the ISO 9001 quality standard.
