The remaining data is stored for a limited period. We use this data for the operation of our website, in particular to detect and eliminate errors on the website, to identify the website utilization and to make adjustments or improvements (legal basis: Article 6(1) sentence 1f GDPR).

Cookies

Cookies are very small text files used by websites which your browser stores on your computer and which are able to send certain pieces of information to us or, where applicable, to a third party.

Transient cookies are automatically deleted when you close the browser. This particularly includes session cookies. They store a so-called session ID which permits various queries of your browser to be associated with the common session. They make it possible for your computer to be recognized when you return to our websites. The session cookies are deleted when you log off or close the browser.

Persistent cookies are automatically deleted after a predefined period, each of which can differ by cookie. Unlike with transient cookies, these cookies are not erased automatically when you close your browser. You can delete the cookies in the security settings of your browser at any time.

We process cookies that are absolutely necessary in order to allow us to provide a service that the user has explicitly requested ("necessary cookies") as part of our legitimate interest in providing and operating the website on the basis of Article 6(1) sentence 1f GDPR. Information on the name, purpose, storage duration and type of cookies can be found in our cookie banner under the “Necessary” category.

Further information that is not absolutely necessary in order to provide a service that the user has explicitly requested is stored/accessed on your end device. This information is only stored/accessed if you grant your consent. You can find details of the type of information, the purpose of processing, the period for which the information is stored and the possible recipients of the data later on in this data privacy statement.

You can configure your browser so that it generally does not accept cookies or so that only certain cookies are saved or not saved. You can find out more about how to do this in your browser’s help system. If your browser rejects all cookies, you may not be able to use all of the functions offered on this website.

Fanpages

To make current information available to customers, partners and other interested parties, and to get in touch with them, in addition to our own website we run fan pages on the following social networks: YouTube, XING, LinkedIn, Google, Twitter, Pinterest, Facebook, Instagram und kununu.

Data relating to these fan pages is processed by the provider of the social media platform, and data processing outside the European Union cannot be ruled out. The platform provider may provide us with aggregate usage data, but we do not have access to personal data so long as you only visit the fan page.

The legal basis for this data processing is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 (f) GDPR. If you give consent via an opt-in (“tick the box”, “activate the button”) or any other form of obtaining consent, the legal basis is Art. 6 (1) sentence 1 (a) GDPR. You may at any time withdraw any consent you have granted from the person or organization to whom it was granted, without stating a reason, with effect for the future.

Since data processing activities are carried out by the platform provider, we recommend that you turn to the respective provider for details of your right to request access to and rectification or erasure of personal data, the right to data portability and the right to object to processing of personal data in connection with visiting our fan page. We will of course assist you if necessary in the exercise of your rights.

In addition, cookies may be placed on your computer or device under some circumstances. Information on the legal basis for the use of cookies and their purpose can be found under “Cookies” in this privacy policy and in the platform providers’ privacy policies.

Google Ads (conversion tracking and remarketing)

We use the Google Ads service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, to promote our products on external websites, to display advertisements that match your interests and to measure the success of our ads.

This means that Google stores a cookie on your end device whenever you access our website via an advertisement. This makes it possible to measure the advertisements displayed and the user clicks. The cookie is used to store information such as the number of page views, opt-out information, etc. The information stored in the cookie shows that you clicked on an advertisement and were redirected to the relevant page. Each Google Ads customer is assigned a different cookie. This means that cookies cannot be tracked through the websites of AdWords customers. We ourselves do not collect or process any personal data in connection with the advertising measures referred to above. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. These evaluations allow us to identify which of the advertising measures used are particularly effective. We do not receive any further data resulting from the use of the advertisements. In particular, we cannot identify the users on the basis of this information.

In addition, the remarketing function allows visitors to our website to be shown corresponding ads on other websites in the Google advertising network. This involves analyzing the behavior of visitors to our website (e.g. which products were viewed on our website) using log files and cookies in order to allow targeted advertising to be displayed.

Information on the name, purpose, storage duration and type of cookies can be found in our cookie banner under the “Marketing” category.

Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with the Google server. We have no control over the scope and further use of the data collected by Google using this tool, meaning that the information provided is based on the information currently known to us: The use of Google Ads Conversion means that Google is informed that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or clicked on one of our advertisements. If you have registered for a Google service, Google can assign the visit to your account. Even if you are not registered with Google/have not logged in, it is possible that the provider will still be able to identify and store your IP address. Furthermore, it is impossible to rule out that data may be transmitted to Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google is certified in accordance with the EU-US Privacy Shield, which guarantees an adequate level of data protection pursuant to Articles 44 et seq. GDPR.

If third-party content such as Google Maps or YouTube is displayed on our websites, the transmission of your IP address and the content displayed under "Logfiles" to the third-party provider is required to make this content available and to display it in your browser. This allows us to ensure that we can present our website in an attractive manner.

The legal basis for processing is Article 6(1) sentence 1f GDPR.  We cannot exert any influence over data processing by the third-party provider. If you are logged in with your user account for the third-party provider, the third-party provider can assign your user behavior to your user account.
